J. Arthur Bower’s Lawn Feed, Weed & Mosskiller can be used any time between late spring and early autumn, when grass and weeds are actively growing. Choose a time when the soil is moist and the grass is dry. Do not apply during drought or freezing conditions. Do not apply in windy weather to avoid drift onto plants, patios, decking or ponds.
How to Use
Wait 3 days after last mowing the lawn. This will allow weeds to grow and have more leaf area to absorb the weedkiller.
Apply at 35gms per square metre, either by hand or with a spreader.
Application by Hand
We recommend you mark out square metres on your lawn using either pegs and string or canes. Wear gloves and sprinkle the product evenly at a rate of 35gms per square metre (1oz per sq yd). Initially, spread the recommended amount over one of the squares and then use this as a visual guide for the remaining squares.
Application by Spreader
Set the spreader to the setting that will dispense 35gm per square metre (1oz per q yd). The J. Arthur Bower’s Spreader setting is 3.5. The J. Arthur Bower’s Lawntenda setting is 4. For other spreaders contact our Advisory Service on 01522 537561 or visit www.william-sinclair.co.uk/gardening/garden_expert/spreader
After Application
Leave the weed and moss killers to work for a day without watering.
If it does not rain within the next couple of days, water in thoroughly to get the lawn food working.
Avoid walking on the lawn until it has rained or been watered in.
Wait 3 days after application before mowing the lawn.
What to Expect
The lawn will become a richer, greener colour within a week.
The moss will blacken as it dies and can be raked out after 7-10 days.
Weeds will grow vigorously at first and then become distorted and die. Maximum weed control is achieved in about 2-3 weeks.
A second application may be required after 6 weeks for lawns badly infested with weeds or moss.
Advice

RESEEDING bare patches can be done 4 weeks after applying the product.

William Sinclair has taken significant steps to capitalise on its position as the most environmentally responsible manufacturer in the horticultural market. The peat content of many of our growing media has been reduced through the development of a unique means of using material that would otherwise go to landfill and the J. Arthur Bower’s 70L Multi-Purpose Compost was the first in the gardening market to display an independently calculated carbon footprint.
