Veterinary diets are formulated for the nutritional support of dogs with specific clinical conditions and are recommended to be used under veterinary advice. For more information on feeding Dental Special to your dog, please consult your veterinary surgeon.
Dental Special is for the nutritional support of daily oral hygiene in dogs under 10 kg:
- Limits the development of dental plaque and tartar
- Helps fight bad breath
Not recommended in cases of:
- Cardiac disease (unless the dog is on ACE inhibitors as sodium intake is then well tolerated)
- Pancreatitis or history of pancreatitis
- Hyperlipidaemia
Because of their size, texture and shape Dental kibbles have a mild abrasive effect on dental plaque and tartar when chewed.
Sodium polyphosphate binds salivary calcium, making it unavailable for tartar formation.
Increased amounts of a synergistic complex (niacin, pantothenic acid, choline, inositol and histidine) reduces transepidermal water loss and supports the barrier effect of the skin.
Increasing the urine volume helps reduce saturation of urine with both struvite and calcium oxalate in small dogs predisposed to urolithiasis.
Royal Canin’s products are designed to provide precise nutritional solutions to your dog’s needs. Each of their products is based on their extensive knowledge of dogs. This has been gained through many years of studying by their own team of researchers and academics at top veterinary schools and universities, and continued input from vets worldwide. They are constantly expanding and improving on this knowledge in order to keep providing your dog with food that meets their exact dietary requirements.
